Holding on…

As I have gotten older

I find I tend to losen my grip on things

that fill up my day with fluff and junk

which seem trivial and fleeting,

and hold more

tightly to people

I cherish and don’t want to let go of.

Because both

will be gone

one day.

And I want to be sure I held on tightly to the right thing…
